    Willys truck

I`m going to attempt to build a Willys, and do it on the cheap.I got the cab, fenders, hood&grill for free. Then a friend gave me a Ford Bronco for free.I salvaged the motor,tranny,t-case,rear 9inch,and rims, the rest went over the scales. The tranny t-case has been traded for a two wheel drive tranny.About a month ago I picked up a Ford(48-56) Ibeam axle for the front.
I spent about three days cleaning the motor trying to get it ready for some paint. As I was doing that I was also getting rid of all the crap I won`t be needing like ignition box, knock senser, old wires, powerstearing pump, etc.Sunday afternoon I got curious and pulled a valve cover. It looked like a brand new motor in there.I know the motors history,it was built by Jerry Janke about four years ago but probably only has about 10000 on the rebuild.SWEET!
Next is getting the front axle sorted out so I can set everything like I think it should go so I can measure for a frame. The frame will be home built with 2x4x3/16s box tube.

At this point I`m not sure what I`ll need, but I`ll keep you in mind. Thanks for the offer.
This will be a truck.I wanted a wagon, actually had one given to me but the PO died before it happened. Now I have a vision of how I want this one to look and I`m liking it.

    Re: Willys truck

Some really cool pics,I was wondering if he did anything with the top(shorten the bubble)but it doesn`t look like he did.I have been concerned with mine.I have seen them with the gutter shaved, but was thinking about changing the shape of it.Maybe I should just worry about getting it running then cosmetics.

    Nice project

Neat project. I had a 47 willy truck quite awhile back. Some one had installed a 6cyl out of a falcon. It ran good and still had the 4 wheel hooked up. Back behind the plymouth.

This build is still on-going,but its the part that sucks.I`ve been trying to get the garage to a piont that I can do the build inside.Lots of cleaning and re-arranging,I even installed some new to me cabinets. Then a couple weekends ago I tried to burn the house down, and I`m gonna lose a couple weekends fixing that.Gotta keep Momma happy!

That seems to be one of my biggest down falls too!! I never have enough space to do what I want inside, now that I have closed the business, I will have alot more space in the shop though~just got to get home again!
