Whart would be the size comparison of the cut windshield to the stock rear glass. The reason I ask is, you have enough metal below the rear window you could probably take your 4 inches from there and have most of the windows the same size. Just a thought unless you want the rear glass to have that chopped look.
    I love chopping vehicles.

I always set up where my seat and steering column are going to end up , before I decide how much I can take out of the top and still be able to ride in it with some comfort . If you cut the top down too low , you will have a hard time working around that .

I think the rear glass is eight inches now but I like the mail slot look, maybe six inches would work.I`ll mark a bunch of lines, run tape whatever I can to try and get it right before my first cut.

I think I will get it running and driving before I chop it for pretty much the same reason.Right now I have about eight inches between my head and the top.If I take the factory mounts off the seats I will still be up off the floor but gain about three inches of headroom.

I haven't had internet in almost a week.... I am glad to see that I missed some good stuff here!! It looks like it is coming together, its looking good. I like the mock up 2x4s- I have used plywood before, but I like the 'look' that they give better!

Follow the scrub line rule. At least while the vehicle is in motion, If you have a tire failure all frame, suspension parts, and body, should be supported away from the ground by the rim with no tire mounted on it. You can still bag it for lowering if you want to drag frame, or slow cruising at shows.

I would agree with John, make it just above the ground with tireless wheels, just in case of a blowout.... Now if you are going with Bags, then I would make bumpstops that would keep the frame from digging in, in case of a blown bag also... Make them removable for the shows and slow cruzin' though if thats the route you are going with!

I got the rear axle Sat.Isuzu Rodeo, coil springs, factory four link,4.30 gears, drum brakes.I got every thing, nuts, bolts washers, brake lines,E-brake cable&E-brake lever,I even cut the end off the driveshaft, all for 100.00.The downside is it was a mud pit out there, its a good thing I brought a tarp with me to put on the ground.
Now I can start figuring out how to make the frame wide enough for the stock links to work without changing the front.

That's a hell of a deal, even with having to deal with the mud. Sounds like you got a plan in place.
