my ( first build) 27 chevy is chopped 6" and channeled 4"
    i am 5.9 140 lbs.
and it is TIGHT in that cab.
i am having to put the gas pedal on the firewall above the tranny hump.
    14" steering wheel.
    thinnest/smallest seats i could find.
i dont think my fiance is going to be able to drive it. (big boobs)
in hindsight i would have made the rear of the cab longer.
    but on the good side.
at 49 years old i aint gonna grow any more.

when i started trying out seats i realized just how tiny that damn truck is.
    if i was any bigger.
    i'd have to sell it.
my next build will be built around a normal sized human.
    live and learn.

I really don/t feel to sorry for ya. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess. LOL.
Most of the cars I have built have been chopped mostly coupes or sedans but I soon realized why John Milner had to lean forward to look out of his coupe. Cuz I had to move the seat way back, and down, to get the room. It left me lookin at the b piller most of the time. You just get used to it. Try to make it as comfortable as you can it will work out.

    oh god
you are not gonna believe this
but i just realized i am going to have to drive it like a stock car.
i freakin cant believe it never even crossed my mind.
the cowl is so narrow that the brake is on the left side of the steering column and the gas is on the tranny hump.
    left foot brake
    right gas.
this is gonna take some getting used to.

That's funny. Most of my friends comment on my pedal use cuz that is the way I have driven my cars from the get go. It seems like the only time I do it in the normal way is with a standard trans. When I used to drag race I would toe heel the gas and brake pedal right foot, and use my left for the clutch to warm up the tires. Kinda like a poormans power brake, didn't have a line lock, but it worked.

my buddy J.P. of the HENCHMEN C.C. has done all the work (so far) on this build.
he has been building/racing cars for almost 50 years.
i met him a few years ago and we hit it off.
one day i told him he had some of the coolest cars i had ever seen.
    he says
    we should build you one.
he charged me $15 an hour to handbuild me a car.

    you see fellas
    i am a parts replacer.
i sure as hell aint no fabricator/mechanic/hotrod genius.

the reason he did it so cheaply is simple.
he just loves to build rods.
but he couldnt afford to build another one for himself.
monday he is delivering my car to me
and has already started on a 39 chevy p/u for himself....

There is no shame in getting a car built for ya. That's how the hobby stays afloat for everyone, and once you get the truck in your hands you will learn more than you will ever need about rods.
When it gets delivered go for a ride and take lots of pic's for us....John

there were only a couple things that kept me from building a car from scratch myself.
1 i dont know the 1st thing about building cars
    2 i have zero experience welding/cutting/forming/shaping metal
3 i have no tools besides basic hand tools and a grinder

    other than that
    it woulda been a breeze

It looks good Billy, and reads like a book. I bet it feels great to finally have it home. I picked up the chevy roof today for ya, so it's ready for Jenny.
Hey Reddog the measurements on the top are roughly 39 1/2 front to back 48 1/2 side to side at the front narrowest and 54 inches at the rear side to side widest point. Hope this helps.
    John
